Hello there, this is my first update of my official blog! :D

Okay, the foodie around the block (which is me) decides to go to a fastfood chain. Well this fastood chain is one of my favorites, most favorite actually. Well, I'd like to introduce to you my most favorite fastfood chain, it's like McDonald's, but Philippine verison I guess. :)

Jollibee is my favorite fastfoodchain!

Yeah, you heard me right, that's my favorite fastfood chain. Well, this is about Jollibee's bestseller. Everybody wants to eat this whenever they want to eat anytime. Maybe foreigners or tourists want to taste this bestseller, but they don't have that much time to go to Jollibee in the Philippines.

I went to Jollibee so many times, and I mostly order Chickenjoy, to be honest with y'all. :)

Actually, their Chickenjoy is soooooooo good! The skin is really crispy, and the inside part is juicy. I drowned my Chickenjoy sometimes with the gravy, because when you combine both of them, it's heaven right there! :D

Okay, going back...

I mean, Jolibees are around the world, but imagine if someone wants to make a homemade version of Jollibee's Chickenjoy. Would it be better if it's homemade?

Of course! What I know is that Jollibee's Chickenjoy has MSG or something, like a preservative. Well, I googled the recipe, and I found a homemade version! So, here it goes. :)

HOMEMADE JOLLIBEE CHICKENJOY

Prep. time: 15 min.

Cook time: 1 hour

Total: 1 hour and 15 mins

INGREDIENTS

2 kilos chicken, your choice cuts salt and pepper cooking oil for deep frying (For the breading:) 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup cornstarch 1 Tbsp. five spice powder or ngohiong powder 1 Tbsp. garlic powder 1 tsp. fine salt, adjust if necessary

PROCEDURE

1. Put the chicken pieces in a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Rub and press each chicken with the salt and pepper so all the pieces is evenly coated.

2. Next, to make the breading, in a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, five spice powder, garlic powder and salt.

3. Stir the dry ingredients using a fork until all the ingredients are evenly mixed.

4. Heat the oil in the deep fryer or deep frying pan for about 175°C.

5. Coat a piece of chicken with the breading inside and out. Coat underneath the skin as well.

6. Do it by pressing each chicken with the breading then shake off excess breading and fry it.

7. Depending on the size of your fryer and the size of your chicken, you can put 4 to 5 pieces per batch.

8. Just don't overcrowd the fryer to avoid the fried chicken to become soggy and loose it's crispiness.

9. Cook it for about 15 to 20 minutes in medium fire.

10. Put the chicken in a paper towel or a rack to drain the excess oil.

11. Serve with your favorite gravy. Enjoy!

That's the recipe! I would recommend to compare the original Chickenjoy of Jollibee and your homemade version of Jollibee's Chickenjoy. I would also recommend to also taste their Burger Steak! It's really good! :)

That's all I could say for this update, stay updated!

Loves from yours truly,

Kiana de Persia
